The Hawnay Troof discography centres on four studio albums released between 2003 and 2009, moving from a scrappy debut toward increasingly layered, self-produced records.

Get Up! Resolution Love (2003)
The first album set out the blueprint: home-recorded electronic pop with a punk pulse, built on software and drum machines rather than a band. As a debut it is closer to the project’s lo-fi roots, and it established the relationship with Retard Disco that carried the early releases.
Dollar and Deed (2006)
Three years later, Dollar and Deed pushed in the opposite direction from a tidy, radio-length record. Self-produced and reportedly stretching past thirty tracks across a double album, it is the most excessive entry in the catalogue, a document of an artist recording constantly and refusing to trim. For listeners it works as a deep dive rather than an introduction.
Islands of Ayle (2008)
Islands of Ayle is generally regarded as the high point. Reportedly finished over the winter of 2007 and early 2008, it drew the strongest reviews of the project’s life, including a warm reception from the independent music press, and it turned up on at least one notable artist’s year-end list. It is the record most often recommended to newcomers, and the reception is discussed further under the music.
Daggers at the Moon (2009)
The last of the four studio albums arrived in 2009. It closed out the most prolific stretch of the project before Cooler’s attention shifted toward producing and collaborating with other artists, a move traced on the collaborations page.
A remix album
Between the studio records the project also released Remix Projection in 2008, a self-released collection offered as a free download rather than through a label. It sat outside the main studio-album run and reworked existing material, in keeping with the era’s culture of freely circulated remix and edit projects.
EPs and singles
Around the albums sat a scattering of shorter releases, several of them on the same independent labels and a few self-released. The earliest, from 2003, appeared under the slightly different billing Da Hawnway Troof before the settled Hawnay Troof spelling took hold.
